4th of July (finally!)

This is going to be quick. Not too wordy, mostly pictures. Give me a break, I've been busy.
These are pictures from the party at my parents house on the 4th of July.

I think Betsy did the decorating, thanks Betsy!

Thanks to my family for helping to get the yard looking so spiffy!

Everyone (Darren, what are you doing?!?)

I made Betsy take a picture of me, because I'm always taking the pictures.. ooh my bangs are too short :)

Sorry Kane for posting this picture! We went to the Stadium of Fire. This was right after the jet fly by. Scared the heck out of Kane. Really, he was fine :)

Also, notice my counter at the bottom of my blog?? 38 days until my parents get home!!!!

FYI - My family, there were 2 t-shirts and some adidas left at my parents house.

Flashback Friday

So this picture isn't technically a "flashback" picture, it was taken a couple weeks ago on Kane's birthday. The flashback is just my memories of going to this park, Bear Park, in Sandy. My brothers used to play football there. The playground is almost exactly the same as it was 20+ years ago. I've been searching for a picture of me at this park, but haven't found one yet. I'll post it later if I find one.

I'm alive!

I know some of you were probably wondering if I've disappeared. Here I am! Here's an update of a few things from the past couple weeks.

Asher learned to ride his bike (finally)! I think the fact that Heidi's 5 year old son, Will, can do it was good motivation.
Another funny thing about Asher. Last Saturday I woke up to him watching What Not to Wear. I TiVo'd it and he picked it over SpongeBob, Power Rangers, Hannah Montana. Awesome!
This is the best picture I got of Asher & Alivia (Andrea B's daughter) dancing at their Cinqo de Mayo program. My new camera arrived a few days late. They were so cute!!

Kane has started telling everyone his name is BYU. His new primary teacher had to ask me his real name because he would only say BYU and he wrote BYU on his paper. Haha!

Here are some videos. Asher really wanted his Grandpa Hintze to see his mexican dance. I won't be offended if the rest of you don't want to watch them.

Bedtime movie

I don't know why I find this so funny, or blog worthy... I came home tonight to find my 7yo and 4yo boys watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So much for Scooby-Doo & Spongebob :)

A post... finally

I realize I haven't blogged about something "real" for more than a month! Sorry. Moving is stressful! I don't really feel like myself lately. Since I moved to Alpine and my kids go to school in Saratoga Springs, I'm rarely home. I was gone from 7am - 3pm today, uhg. So it seems it's taking me quite a while to settle in here. I thought instead of a traditional Flashback Friday, I'd give you a flashback of what I've been doing the past month.
3/20 I volunteered to go on Asher's 1st grade field trip to the Bean Museum at BYU. This was 2 days before I moved, not the best idea. Riding in the back of the school bus with a bunch of 1st graders hopped up on ice cream from the BYU Creamery, also, not a good idea.
3/23 Easter, day after we moved. My wonderful in-laws brought us dinner. Very fun day after all the hectic ones that preceded it.

3/27-3/30 Went to Monster Jam in Vegas with Heidi & her family. We had front row seats, it was SO much fun! (You can make fun, I don't care).

4/4 Bought the airplane teeter totter from Costco. Hoping it's warm enough this weekend to actually use it.

4/7 Woke up to this, ick! (Okay it's kind of pretty).

4/11 Boys playing in grandma's tub. And Kane sleeping protected by his "babies".
So there you have it. My life lately.

Asher Video 2005

This is a video from September 2005, Asher was almost 5. He's singing I am a Child of God. You can barely hear him, but my favorite part of the video is Kane scooting over to be right next to Asher. This was my conversation with Kane before he went to bed tonight. Kane said, "I love Asher" I said "I love Asher too", Kane said "I wish I could be him" So sweet!

KSL Story

Here's a link to the story KSL did on the cane wave tribute:
http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=2593970
You get some good pictures of Asher, Betsy, Heidi & Will waving handkerchiefs this morning. Asher is wearing a black coat with the hood up, Will is in a red coat & Batman hat. The close up of the hands waving are Betsy & Heidi's hands :) Asher thinks he's famous, haha!
Thank you my sisters for including Asher today!

4:52pm

Here's what my kids were doing today at 4:52 pm:

Kane was making a fruit salad. This was all his idea. He asked Matt this morning to take him to the store to get the ingredients, apples, bananas, oranges and blueberries.

Asher was playing Thrillville. He's been addicted for about 5 days now.
Kasey was working on her science fair project.
Guess what I get to do tonight? Reorganize my game closet! Kane just pulled out a puzzle from the bottom and everything came crashing down. I now have to figure out which puzzle pieces go where and oh my! it's a huge mess.

Legos

Can I just tell you about Asher, he LOVES legos. He got this set for Christmas (one of about 4 big sets). It has about 650 pieces and is made for 8-14 year olds, he's 7. The top picture is him opening Christmas morning, the bottom picture is the finished product Christmas evening. He finished it all in one day. Even though we were at my sisters house for most of the day. He did it all by himself. He once spent 7 hours on a Saturday building a Lego castle. Now, he doesn't really play with the Legos, they usually get built once and then his little brother and cousin get to them and wreck them. Needless to say, he has a closet full of Lego pieces :) Think he'll be an engineer like his Grandpa???
